Did we mention it’s our birthday?
Most two year olds - while very cute (see above) - are not able to effect meaningful change in the lives of Virginia voters through tireless nonpartisan advocacy, but UpVote Virginia is no ordinary two-year-old!
ICYMI - our two year anniversary was August 16th, and while we're looking back a little bit to celebrate our progress, mostly, we're looking forward!
THIS MONDAY, August 19th, the Charlottesville City Council will vote on an ordinance to use ranked choice voting in their 2025 elections. All five members have publicly pledged to support such a move so we're excited to celebrate and then roll up our sleeves and help ensure every Charlottesville voter is ready to participate.
We're also making moves toward local ranked choice voting in communities across the Commonwealth - Fredericksburg, Prince William, Loudoun, Hampton Roads, and more! We're meeting voters at festivals, farmers markets, and summits. And people are excited to hear that there's a simple fix for so many of our modern political struggles.
We can't let this momentum fizzle out - you know how cranky two-year-olds can get - so we're asking for your support to make this our best year yet! Can you make a tax-deductible donation/birthday gift to keep us moving forward?
Thank you for being part of our team,
Liz and Tamara
